Using a data source to populate Addresses for xmpie
Start with your simple Excel database.
Note that the headers do not need to be specific to the Go ePower Product xmpie adors.
Next location your Product in Go ePower in the product options go to Data.
Add a List Name and then upload your excel file. The click save.
Modify or add, the message to appear on the product form, the default is Select Location.
The default separator is a dash (-).
Select the Field you wish to show the user.
GROUPS: If you want to limit the data to be shown to select users then you can select a field from Select Groups Field. If the column matches the user's Group it will show that record. If none is selected then all records will be accessible to everyone.
Once the data source is created you need to specify where the data source will be available.
Go to the Customize tab and select the Step that you want the Location Dropdown to appear in, Click Edit Step.
Next you need to link the columns of the excel to an ador or variable.
Select the database to use and then link the column (data field) to that ador. Note that if the customer should not be allowed to edit the address you can click on the Mandatory and Make variable read only check boxes.
When you run the product it looks like the following.
EXPOSE TO MANAGERS/CUSTOMERS FEATURE
This feature allows the Manager to access the datasource to update information from the front end.
Expose to Managers must be checked off.
Click on Edit Template to design the form using bootstrap.
In the company bootstrap menu, add the following to access this form.
/Store/Site/Admin/Data/SharedDataXmpie.aspx - Managers
/Store/Site/Admin/Data/SharedDataXmpieCustomer.aspx - Customers
