Master Static Product - With Sub Products

Modified on Thu, Mar 15, 2018 at 3:06 PM

Case Scenario: Polo Shirt with both sizes and colour but the products are inventoried.

Creating a Master Static Item with Sub Sections.

Create this effect where the user can view the different colours and sizes within each colour. Each colour is really its own static inventoried item and can be priced differently.

Step 1. You will still need to create a product for each size and colour. See screen capture showing i need a product that shows what shirt is being inventoried. So Polo Shirt - Black  -Large. That is what will display when it is ordered. But the Sku you can use for the Size. need to keep is short and sweet so looks good in product page.

Step 2. You need to create another Phantom product (Sub Master) in my example it is Polo Shirt - Black. That will not get ordered but that is what houses the individual products (they go in there). There would be no pricing in this product.

Step 3. Create Master product.

A. Static Master Tab Select the Phantom Prododucts move them to the right.

B. In Sub master Tab you need to select in the dropdown the sub master which i just called phantom product buts its really a sub master. and put the inventoried products in there. order it as you like.Click save.

Step 4. Go to the master product Bootstrap Layout. Select from the dropdown template to import : Sub Master [sub products in grid view]. Feel free to adjust as needed. if you used the Sku for sizes then adjust the template to use sku. If you used description for your sizes then make sure in the sub item section you use {Description}. Just be consistent.
