This product type lets users make multiple selections to build the final item. Key features include:
1. Defining any number of parameters, each containing a set of details for users to choose from.
2. Each parameter can have any number of details.
3. Parameters can be displayed in a variety of styles.
For example, common parameters might be:
• Color
• Size
The Color parameter could have details like:
• Red
• Green
• White
The Size parameter could have details like:
• Small
• Medium
• Large
In this setup, a user selects one detail from the Color parameter and one from the Size parameter.
On the backend, every combination of these details can have its own inventory (tracked by specific IDs), distinct pricing (through different Price Sets), a unique SKU, description, and associated images.
Available display styles for parameters include:
1. Dropdown List
2. Radio Buttons
3. Buttons
4. Images
A default inventory and default Price Set can be used when no combination values are specified. Additionally, the Mainline can be customized for each selection according to a template defined in the backend.
Note: Adding a new parameter resets all existing combinations, so you’ll need to re-enter them. To simplify this process, a dedicated backend page allows you to manage combination details more efficiently in bulk.
Each Detail has the following:
1. Name
2. Description
3. Text
4. Hex (Currently used with Buttons display type only)
5. Thumbnail (Used with Images display type.
