Create Discount based on users

Custom discounts can be set up for different users in the system. This is particularly handy if you have a pricing tiered pricing system based on volumes.

To set up discounts by user

Create a discount:

1. in the company settings click on the options tab and select discounts

2. Click the "add new price discount " link

3. Name the discount, and if the discount is time sensitive select a start and or finish date. These can be left blank if the discount is to run indefinitely.

4. The next step is to add price breaks where the discount is applied and increases if applicable. for example if the user is to get 10% off of everything then you would have the discount start at $1.00 but if the user only gets the discount if he purchases $100 then you would start the discount at $100. Alternatively you could set it up so the first break begins when the user sends $50.00 and is only %5 but when he spends $100 he gets a 10% discount.

To add the break click on the arrow next to the discount to expand and click on the add break link. Put in the total order price at which the discount will start and either the dollar value or percentage off. Click the check mark to save

The next is to apply the discount to specific users.

1. Under manage sites select manage users

2. Click the edit icon to edit the user you wish to apply the discount to

3. Select the discount you want to give the user in the preferred customer discount drop down

Click save to save the settings. The user will now see his discount applied when he view his cart
