Bar Codes using Shape Function

Barcode – (used in shape command)

Two barcode types are available:

  • Barcode 128
  • Barcode 39

To use the bar code, add a shape command to the block with values:

barcode128 or barcode39

The command relies on Barcode fonts. To use any of the barcodes, the proper font must be loaded and selected.

Attached are also bar code fonts you can use from Google.

To download a Google Font:

Open the Google Fonts directory, pick your favorite typefaces (or fonts) and add them to a collection. Once you have collected the desired fonts, click the “Download your Collection” link at the top and you'll get a zip file containing all the requested fonts in TTF format.

Note: Barcode 39 can be achieved without the shape command, simply add the proper font file then prefix the string to print with an asterisk (*) and postfix with an asterisk as well. This is automatically done when using the shape command. Barcode 128 is more complex and requires calculation that is handled by the shape command.
